Default linux 8 .... aghhhhhhhhh

k, i'm gettin the same problems. but i am just curious... yeah, linux wasn't meant to be much like windows... but why is it so hard to get such a popular program to work under linux 8? not that i'm incompitent.... just lazy tonight... frustrated, ready to sleep and it's 4:22 .. b-sides that, i'm 3 days new to linux itself and realize the only way to learn it is to do it. just venting frustration from the 5 hours of trying to get it to work. lates

Juan and Thalys has posted this solution to your delimma. You can look into the error and see that it is making many references to /usr/lib/libgcj.so.3. That file is part of the libgcj-3.2-7 RPM package. A java runtime compiler by gnu/gcc. remove that package or delete /usr/bin/java and your problems should be solved. You may choose to simply rename /usr/bin/java to /usr/bin/java.orig for sanity sakes.
