![]() I downloaded and installed the version of java, Which is vesion jre1.5.0_01. And put it in my PATH. When trying to run LimeWire, I get this error: /usr/bin/limewire Starting LimeWire... Java exec found in PATH. Verifying... Suitable java version found [java = 1.4.2] Configuring environment... Loading LimeWire: Warning: -jar not understood. Ignoring. Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: LimeWire.jar at gnu.gcj.runtime.FirstThread.run() (/usr/lib/libgcj.so.5.0.0) at _Jv_ThreadRun(java.lang.Thread) (/usr/lib/libgcj.so.5.0.0) at _Jv_RunMain(java.lang.Class, byte const, int, byte const, boolean) (/usr/lib/libgcj.so.5.0.0) at __gcj_personality_v0 (/usr/lib/LimeWire/java.version=1.4.2) at __libc_start_main (/lib/tls/libc-2.3.4.so) at _Jv_RegisterClasses (/usr/lib/LimeWire/java.version=1.4.2) ************************************************** **************** Something went wrong with LimeWire. Maybe you're using the wrong version of Java? (LimeWire is tested against and works best with with Sun's JRE, Java 1.4+) The version of Java in your PATH is: java version "1.4.2" gcj (GCC) 3.4.3 20041212 (Red Hat 3.4.3-9.EL4) Copyright (C) 2004 Free Software Foundation, Inc. ![]() Your system is still configured to use gcj as the java environment. You need to manually remove the references to gcj and add the Sun java to your path. (make sure its added at the _beginning_ of the path variable) Last edited by zab; March 13th, 2005 at 01:30 AM. |

![]() Hi again, the problem is that our script was built for Fedora Core 3 and has not been tested on RHEL 4. We'll try to fix that for the next version. in the meantime, here are instructions how to install Sun java (written for java 1.4.2 but should work for 1.5 as well): http://www.fedoranews.org/tchung/sunjava/ |
