Hey guys. I can't find a way to contact Limewire anywhere (without paying), and the site linked here. At worst this will help some inexperienced user with newline issues.
Simply, Limewire's shell script runLime.sh (from the " Other Systems (OS/2, Solaris, Linux)" package) uses DOS newlines, at the very least for the first line. This means that Linux can't find bash, because it's looking for /bin/bash\r , and you can't run Limewire. Simple enough to fix, and should never have happened for a version that's supposed to go on a unix OS. Also, when grabbing Limewire from an old download link (http://maverick.limewire.com/download/LimeWireOther.zip), which is apparently out of date, instead of redirecting to the new address, it redirects to a windows installer. Anyway, no worries, I have no trouble. If any of you know a way to contact the devs about this (I certainly don't), please go ahead. This is the best I can manage. |
