I am running Mac OS X (10.1.5) and LimeWire 2.5.5 Pro. I am sharing 2495 MP3 files. (All the files end in .mp3). I am using a Cable MODEM
Everything was running fine until I uploaded to 2.5.4 Pro. When it showed how many files I was sharing, it would count up the total rather fast (a minute or so). But when I updated to 2.5.4 Pro, it now sits there and slowly adds the number of files to be shared. I was hopeing that 2.5.5 Pro would go back the way it was, but it does the same thing. That is why I am posting this now. I have had it running for about 30 minutes now, and it is only half way of showing all my files that I share. I usully run LimeWire by itself... no other internet application running at the same time. I have Norton's Personal Firewall running, but have opened Port 6346 for all. I use the factory defaults for everything, except for - I turn off chat, - I turn off the media player, - and I set uncheck the Auto-Clear Complet for the Uploads. Anyone else having this problem? Any Suggestions? Thanks, TNTPayne |

This is because Limewire is creating a HASH of each shared file. It should only have to do this once so the next time you start Limewire it should be pretty fast... of course you have to let it get all the way through your files one time.
