Hi!
I'm running out of clues somehow. I read the FAQ by TruWarrior, but it seems not to address my kind of problem. Also, I couldn't find an answer to this elsewhere. My situation: A K6 (running WIN98) and an iBook are both connected to an ADSL line via a router. Internet access is through a proxy (http, ftp,...). While Limewire (and other similar software) will work on the K6, Limewire and MacPhex both refuse to connect on the Mac. I do not force an IP on the K6 (but tried probably all possible combinations of settings on the Mac). There is a short network activity when Limewire is trying to connect to router.limewire.com and again with connect1 etc, but thats it, there is no response. Only once, Limewire had suddenly been working for a short time (few hours) and then refused again, but neither before nor after that I had changed any settings. Strange, isn't it? I welcome any ideas... |
