Unhappy Limewire forgets all my preferences

I have Limewire 2.6.3 Pro for Mac OSX. Sometimes when I start Limewire, it starts with the installation setup. And I have to set up all my preferences from scratch. I'm not shure, but I think maybe this happens every time my computer has restarted. Usually my computer only are set to sleep, not shut down completely. Someone who share my problem?

Default Forgetting preferences

I share your pain. I have LimeWire 2.6.3 (not Pro). Same thing - seems to be after I reboot the machine, Limewire loses all of its preferences. I'm on a Quicksilver G4 933, running 10.2.1. Help - it takes FOREVER to RE-recognize the 2100+ files!

Same problem, here. every once in a while, limwire pro acts like I just installed it for the first time and takes me through the wizard, or whatever. It kinda sucks. Have you gotten any feedback yet?

I have the same problem where Limewire 2.6.3 running on OS X 10.2.1 forgets preferences and starts up with the startup wizard that assumes that this is the first time Limewire is being run.

I have a bit of additional detail regarding this problem. My Mac has one admin account (me), and 2 other non-admin accounts. When I installed Limewire from my admin account (into the applications folder), things work perfectly and there are no problems with vanishing preferences. However, when one of the non-admin accounts use Limewire, everytime they quit the application, when Limewire is restarted is behaves like it is being started for the first time.

I looked in the library in the user's folder and in the Preferences folder I found the preferences file for Limewire. I reset the privilages for this file so that it belonged to that user and gave the group and everybody read and write privilages. Nice idea, but it didn't make a difference.

Is there anybody from Limewire that monitors this forum so we might get an answer?

Default setup wizard

I have the same problem after updating to 10.2.
I've enjoyed using LimeWire but it's a bit ridiculous having to humour the setup wizard every time I log on--and worse, having to reset all the preferences each time. Masa

Default More preferences problems...

Everyone I've talked to seems be having this problem with LW on Jag. The Preferences just won't hold between sessions and it's maddening. The permissions theory is plausible but I have no expertise in this area and just switched to Jag a few weeks ago. You're probably having a few other issues too: 1. Trying to add a recently downloaded mp3 to itunes despite it being the default player. You'll see the rainbow wheel and/or the text insertion cursor and/or the arrow and it will flash rapidly while Limewire wheezes and moans as it trys to find Itunes and insert the newly downloaded song into the library folder. You might crash on the way. 2. The whole system will become generally unstable and 10X slower and you'll get that nasty feeling of an impending crash. You try to Force Quit and there seems to be a ten second delay between hitting the keys and execution. All in all using 2.7.3 today is like pouring cornflakes into a Ferrari's gas tank.

Suggestions appreciated.

Configuration:
MAC OS 10.2.1
Power MAC G4 400
Limewire 2.7.3

Ditto. 10.2; LW won't save prefs.

Talking have none of you guys read my solution about the wizard problem?

I dont know if it is usual here to grouse about something without having detailed studied the previous items.
So I please you all to read my last posting about this bug and to reply if this workaround helps.
