i have had the ball of death too whilst loading components. i am running 10.1.5.
however i have been sucessful in booting LW by hovering the mouse over the word Limewire in the menu bar before it displays ‘loading components’, you can even click on the menu too! I found this works and 3.5.7 (or should that be .8?) is pretty good once its running, even on a 56kbps modem. hope this is a help to other hanging users Richard |

Go to the download page, scroll towards the bottom, and click the button that mentions the beta.

Had the same problem as everyone else. Tried 3.6.1 Beta and the first time around it worked (although it came up with an error straight away). Now it doesn't want to know. Stalls on core components again.

sorry sberlin havn't a clue what error came up.
Any chance it's more than a coincidence that version 3.6.1 worked after I'd used a version that does work, but when I start it from cold it doesn't want to know? |

I posted this http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=22715
After many frustrating days of trashing, re-loading and re-launching I solved my problem (which seems to be similar to what others are experiencing) i trashed the "incomplete" folder and everything worked. Hope this helps someone else. |
