Default Indesign installer problems

I downloaded Indesign 2 for OSX. It installed and opens up OK but as soon as I use any of the tools it crashes. The 'read me' file that came with the installer said to put the OS9 Adobe folder in the OSX 'Application support' folder. Should I replace the OSX Adobe folder with the OS9 Adobe folder? At the moment I have both Adobe folders in the Application Support folder. Is this what could be causing Indesign to crash?
