hi..I used to have limewire and one day it went crazy and somehow uninstalled itself from my computer. I have tried over and over to get it to reinstall and it won't. I have cheked on numerous directories on my computer but limewire doesn't show up. i have java downloaded. i have read all the forums and tried the backup installers and they all do the same thing. When I click the link to install limewire, it promts up the installer askng me to save. I click ok. then it puts two icons on my desktop called LimeWireWin-full.exe.part. I'm supposed to click this so it can start installing, but the problem is that when I click it, I get an error saying that windows doesn't know what program created it so it can't open it. I've tried seleting a bunch i thought might work, or going onto the web to select it, but then my internet freezes. Nothing works. I have a firewall and AOL security, but I've looked and none of them say they're blocking limewire. i don't understand because i used to have limewire and it worked perfectly. please help me i'm so confused!!! Might be your AOL security. Are you using Pest Patrol? This is known to cause probs for LW. Use the search (top right, between faq & home) to look for Pest Patrol. You'll find a few threads dealing with this.
