Thanks LOTR. I haven't tried the new Norton's, but read a while back that recovering erased files from OS X didn't work easily for ANY program. Sounds like you found the same?

Hi I'm back again in a small voice. squeek I just did a quick search using unerase on 3 partitions & results were all at least 2 days old. I run LW from my OSX partition but save to another. With version 4.0.4 I had a few instances of preferences changing, however I suspect it may have been an accidental press of the default button in LW's prefs. With a beta I had a problem with iTunes prefs one day, but after a restart everything was fine. My comp had eventually even lost communication with my router. It'd been on for a long time & had many heavy apps working sometimes simultaneously.
