Well, as luck would have it, my system got hosed from using update 10.3.6 after I reinstalled 10.3.5 (as instructed by Apple's lab team. They evidently ascertained some problems with the 10.3.6 update, which may account for why the 10.3.7 update came so quickly on the heels of the 10.3.6 update.). One of my associates (who had the same problems with the 10.3.6 update) dug deep into Apple's support site to get some answers and found that a huge number of postings were made of people experiencing trouble with the 10.3.6 update, so my case was not an exceptional situation.

Anyway, how many of you out there have installed the 10.3.7 update on a 17" or 20" G4 iMac (1.25 MHz)? How has everything run for you? Did you iChat AV continue working as before the update? Any need to change settings, reinstall anything (i.e. remember that Java had to be reinstalled with the 10.3.6 update for LimeWire to work)? Has your LimeWire continued working ok with not adjustments or otherwise?

so far the G3 iBook is OK (well, Windows networking still crashes the Finder too often), but haven't updated the 15" G4 iMac yet.

There are no Java updates in 10.3.7, and my java apps run fine (maybe a bit better?).

I downloaded 10.3.7 and now my limewire will not open. running G4-1.25g.
The other issue is that I bought "Pro" and only get basic access.

Same for me. With 10.3.7 on iMac 17" LimeWire is blocked

I use the same and it runs, but This is strange. I didn't use the installer, though, but the jum version from http://www.mager.org/LimeWire/LimeWire.html

Did you install 10.3.7 the same time you updated your LW?

LimeWire has a new installer, which handles rights differently, so maybe there's some bug.

Usually, when you have a problem with an 10.3.x update, the best way to fix it is to download and install the combo update (containing all the updates combined) from the apple website. Don't forget to repair permissions before and after installing the combo update.

hmmm.. 10.3.7 it suck ..my ibook crash when i on also crash when open application..

Well, I haven't installed the 10.3.7 update due to my previous disaster yet, and probably won't until I see better feed back on the Apple feedback forums. It appears that both 10.3.6 and 10.3.7 have been wrought with problems. In fact, the postings on the feedback forums consistently say that it appears that after the 10.3.5 update, updates thereafter have caused lots of problems, almost as if Apple has somehow lost their previous edge in releasing what was largely great updates with little problem. Maybe they have reached the edge of their understanding of the Unix/Mac OS integration technology, which leaves me really wondering how the 10.4 (Tiger) upgrade is going to work. I guess that if we see delays with the Tiger release that will be somewhat telling. Someone recently told me that a lot of a new upgrades viability is largely based on how well the updates work for the previous version of an operating software, since what is done there is carried over to the new version. Hmmm. I hope they're not experimenting with the 10.3 updates to figure out 10.4. I'm ok with holding a Tiger by the tail, but not at all that excited at looking down its mouth if things don't go as well as planned. (I really like the Mac OS X operating system, but have been thumped in a big way by Apple's recent updates debacle.)

On the whole, it appears that since 10.3.5 update seems to be more stable with little of the complaints of the last two updates, that the ole adage works here, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
