Default Prefs causes freeze

This problem has been going on for a year, at least, thru many different LW versions, [ now using Pro 4.3.3b]. I'm sure it's OS related.

Whenever I bring up Prefs window "the spinning beachball of death" causes me to Force Quit LW.

What files do I trash to completely eliminate
LW from my system before attempting a re-install?

Thanks,

John

In the Applications folder, find and trash the LW icon (duh).
Then go to the Home directory and enter the Library folder there. Find the Preferences folder and inside it there will be a folder called Limewire. To the garbage with it.

It could also be your Java man. wwwjava.com
You may need to uninstall and reinstall that.

Thanks, Murasame, but this did not work.

I've trashed the prefs before but not the icon and by that I assume you meant the "icns" file in Resourses. I couldn't find any other way to do it.

I re-installed Java 1.4.2 a month ago for other reasons and this had no effect on my LW probs.

Any other suggestions?

John

No, I meant the whole application in the Applications folder (I think it's in a folder called Limewire too so dump that).
