Compression shouldn't be turned off. It has very low CPU usage and saves a great deal of bandwidth. Why turn it off?

The compression isn't using 1% of those 30. Try to turn Ultrapeer mode off or limit the number of concurrent uploads and downloads, this will help a lot. What kind of mac do you have, a G3?
