Now, I'm sure that they have their loophole, but I would really like to know what it is.
Well, if they do it legally is uncertain--see http://p2pnet.net/story/4150 for more. However, this snip probably shows WHY it's so quick, easy and profitable. By the time the "laws" can get going, the sites have moved, changed their names, or just gone laughing all the way to their tax shelters

I guess $100,000 is just too much to resist, and is probably easier with less risk than robbing a bank.

long story http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=20771

it's not only here: the ads are automatically targeted to the keywords on the page. Soon after a site admin block them, they show up again, probably tiggered by different keywords and linked to different sites. However they do it--innocent money ends up in the wrong pockets.

hehe--the advertisers are as quick as filesharers in getting around blocks.

Unfortunantely we have been hearing about many of these "information" sites recently. The only place to download the free version of LimeWire or to purchase the pro version is at www.limewire.com . As I suggest to anyone that buys the information, contact your credit card company and dispute the charge.

Thanks,

Speaking of Yahoo!, you do know I suppose that typing in Limewire as search keyword at Yahoo!.com returns as Sponsor results(!) scam sites.
Man. And I was wondering how all those people got tricked. I see it now. You're new to the net. You've heard of Yahoo! (probably even used it once or twice before too). You've also heard of Limewire. So you look for it in Yahoo!.com and come up with the scam sites and get tricked because you're new...
I took the trouble to send them feedback (at the bottom of the search results page), telling them that people are being tricked because of their "sponsor results". (I didn't mention that Google doesn't do that, but now that I think about it, maybe I should have). I don't think that one feedback like that will do something, but maybe if more people sent them feedback like that (yes, I'm talking about all of you in here. Those who got tricked and those who didn't altogether), then maybe, just maybe, they might decide to think it through.

What are you talking about? Go to your bank and stop whatever transaction immediately. Then, go to www.limewire.com and download either the free version or the Pro version (around 20$ for download). They don't have adware/spyware.
That site is selling something that isn't theirs. As someone (I think et voilà) said, it's as if you just gave them free money: the software isn't theirs.

I also have been drawn in by sharedmovies.com which I got off a sponsored link off a google search fortunatly I only paid the minimum subsciption but I was a bit confused that I had to download your software to start searching for movies. On a positive note they were recommending your software and I might not have found you without them.

I did not make a note of my password or username with them and they have not e-mailed confirmation so I don't think I will be visiting there members pages again!

Should I try and cancell the debit card transaction ?

Look forward reading any replies

Dear Pantherseyes

Everything the scam site told you were lies, that means everything you thought you were downloading legally you were downloading illegally.

You would be better off just trying to get your money back rather than trying than rescue anything beneficial from the site you purchased your “free” copy of LW from. After all, these scam sites (and there are well over a hundred of them) were specifically designed to part the gullible from their money.

Next time, be more careful (less eager).

UK Bob
