Default Quicktime Movie problems

So here's the problem. I can download a 10 minute quicktime movie clip, but sometimes it won't play the whole thing. I have to let it play through a full minute or something, and then click back on the timeline to get it to start up from where it left off. I'm sure this is a common problem or occurence. How do I fix it so that I can click play and watch the full 10 min video without having to backtrack?

Oh yeah, I'm using a new Macbook Pro with the latest version of Quicktime Pro. Hope that helps....
