Default Optimum Online and Airport Extreme Base Station - port forwarding?

I would love to get my LW and Azureus working the way I know it should, but realize I have issues with my ISP - optimum online. if anyone can help get me setup, i'd be forever grateful. i'm not loking to do anything crazy, but would like to be able to get decent download speeds. plz help and thx in advance for any assistance anyone can offer!

1. OS version? OSX 1.4.1
2. What firewalls you have? none unless factory installed by apple?
3. How much ram? 2.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
4. Hard Disk space available? 60+GB
5. Connection type? Cable (Optimum Online)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Motorola Surfboard, Airport Extreme Base station (most recent models)
7. Where are you trying to connect from? home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? 4.14.0 and 1.5.0_07
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Optimum Online (hate them but no choice)
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It worked!
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? No but I have probleums sing Azureus too and susect it is all caused by OOL and my modem/router?
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. new problem, not sure i'd call myself experienced though! been p2p'ing for yrs tho.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? i think UPnp is enabled? not sure how to check?
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? whatever came with my MBP? none that i know of unless apple factory installs one. i have little snitch set to allow any connection to LW
16. What country are you living in? USA

OSX comes with it's own firewall. You don't really need it to be turned on. But if you'd prefer to use it then see OSX Firewall settings for Tiger

Airport uses something slightly different to UPnP. Best to see the 2 options here Apple Airport Extreme/Express for Mac users * (NAT-PMP)

AFAIK best thing to do with OOL is change ports. But a good idea to check the OOL threads throughout the forums because different people have come up with different ideas. You can find OOL listed here ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire

Another option is to try Phex to see if you have the same problems. Since Phex is not a well known p2p program, OOL may not be stopping its use. Phex is another Gnutella program like LW. It's free & has it's own forum section on these forums.
