I noticed the identical thing on Mac OS X. It also seems to cause the dock to act sluggish. I have very little experience with Limewire but did not notice this with app I downloaded just a few days ago.

I've got a flickering download status bar, though nothing else is flickering. I've also got no information (blank) in the progress and speed bars. whazzup?

I get the flickering during downloads using osx and LimeWire 2.4.4 Pro as well as several previous versions. If nothing is downloading, it seems more stable.
