It seems the new iTunes 8.0 is still not compatible with LW's shared library. It looks like it's LW who will need to make the change to adapt to apple.

LW has added a patch for the compatibility issue: not sure when it will be part of a released version of LW. https://www.limewire.org/jira/browse/LWC-1627 shows it to be a fix for LW version 5.0.0
