Lord of the Rings has a distinguished reputation

There was a bug with the LW 5 alpha versions not showing OK buttons however 5.0_11 fixed it. Do you have the most recent Leopard updates? Check Software Update ... option under Apple menu. There's a new Java update just released. Or perhaps that's the problem.

Did you try deleting your LW preferences folder again?
