Default Close window, LW quits

Mac OS 10.5.6, LW 5.1.2

When I close the LW window, the program quits. Why?

How are you closing the window? There is only really one window in LW, with tabs to swap between windows. Command-H to hide LW in the Dock.

Thanks Lord.
I close it by clicking on the 'red' button' same as I do for any other program, but the program quits. I do hide it in the dock, but would like to be able to close it the same as any other program without it quitting.

Red means quit, yellow is hide in dock. Personally I prefer keyboard shortcuts ... easier on the hands reaching on a large screen all the time. lol eg: Command comma to get to preferences instead of reaching all way up to top left corner of monitor.

I suggested to one of the LW guys to introduce keyboard shortcuts for multiple actions not just a few. They said it sounded like a good idea but time will tell.

Lord,
I do use the shortcuts, (sometimes). When I close windows I usually use the red button and it does not quit Firefox, Thunderbird, Fetch, PageSpinner, etc. just closes the window. Sometimes I prefer to close the window rather than put it in the dock. Get too much in the dock.
