Hope you can help me out. The audio files I download come up as quicktime files. I don't have iTunes. I just use MacAmp. I can only
play them on Quicktime. I want to use MacAmp. Thanks for your help in advance. |

If the sound file is .aif , .wav or .mp3 (or any other format like ogg vorbis that you've downloaded a Macamp plugin for) you have no problem. The fact that they have Quicktime icons simply means that they will open in Quicktime when you double click them, it doesn't stop you from opening them in other compatible sound applications.
1. Open Macamp 2. Go to the windows menu ond select Playlist or press Command P 3. Drag the files into the playlist window. 4. Press Play 5. Er...that's it Last edited by MacTerminator; July 7th, 2002 at 02:43 PM. |

All the files I click on to LAUNCH, get loaded as quicktime. The quicktime window opens to play the cut, but I can't use that with I Tunes. What do I do? It used to open in I Tunes but no longer does. Thank you!

There are about a bazillion threads about this problem. Just go to versiontracker and get "iTunes Associator" and follow the directions.
I keep the mp3's as QT files if I still have LW open because QT does not use as many computer resources as iTunes. iTunes will also play these files from its library, but to have decent tags, you need to change the file type to iTunes with Associator. |

I Assume u use Classic.
No Problem then. Go to Control Panel -> Internet -> extended look for the extension ".mp3" and link it to your favourite program. |
