"I assure you, there are quite a few Macs among LimeWire folks,"

If that is the case, then why don't these "quite a few" simply abandon the Java platform as the wretched drawback it is and come up with a nice little carbonized app. that everyone on a Macintosh can use? With Macintosh commands (like apple+q or opt+click for contextual menus), something approaching normal file naming, a menu where it is supposed to go, a normal pref. file that is maintained over versions, and a bit better interface with the Finder?

Do you find it a normal state of affairs when someone can advise giving this application 64MB of RAM? Is there something wrong with this picture??

Mactella was pretty bad, but was that the totally wrong direction to go? Why Java in the first place? What would be wrong with a separate client à la Carracho or iSwipe or any number of Mac clients that do similar things?

Or if this sounds too ambitious, how about testing out all of Krieger's changes and making them Mac compatible?

I don't mean to be unappreciative of your work, but we both realize that Michelangelo couldn't have sculpted David with a jackhammer.
