OS X.
Practically every complaint I had about Limewire is gone with OS X. The new version is actually fast, it doesn't slow your whole machine to a halt, doesn't munge files into "Limewire Documents", doesn't chop the filenames off, and hasn't yet dropped my number of connections. I know the new, faster computer has a bit to do with the improvements, but I really think the OSX version is head and shoulders above the Classic version. If you're on the fence about upgrading, GO FOR IT. Hope this helps somebody. It was a real pleasant surprise for me. |

I quite agree! The reason for this is that everyone has given up developing Java for the dying OS9. The classic version uses 1.1.8, OSX uses 1.3.1 and Windows 1.4. So OS8-9 users are stuck with a limited version of Limewire (no internal media player, for example) running on an old, clunky version of Java.
