Whenever I try to launch Limewire, I get an error message "Unable to launch Java App. MRJ may not be installed correctly." I've tried to Uninstall Limewire, but I get the same message. So now I'm at an impass-and it was working so beautifully last week. Any suggestions.

Reinstall Java? Here's the Apple link http://developer.apple.com/java/download.html
Still, manually uninstalling Limewire might be necessary. What OS are you using, and any ideas about what changed since last week? |

Have you upgraded LW lately? Maybe you are using a to old version of MRJ. I would recommend using 2.2.4 or later. Maybe the MRJ preferences has gone corrupt. Do the following: Remove anything LimeWire from your system except for the Shared folder. This will uninstall that app. Then re-start your computer. You no longer have LW on your Computer. Now Go and download a new copy of the LW installer from LW's site. Now before running the installer do the following. Go to Macintosh HD>Applications(Mac OS9)>Apple extras>Mac OS Runtime For Java>Apple Applet reader>Apple Applet reader application Highlight its icon and from the file menu select show info/general info. Here you will se what verision you are using. If you are using a version prior to 2.2.4 then you need to upgrade it by downloading it from Apple's site and installing it. The latest version was 2.2.5. Now if it was the proper version then you should do the following: Go to Macintosh HD>System folder>Program preferences>MRJ cache folder Remove that folder to the trash but dont empty the trash. And re-start the computer. Now see if LimeWire will work by using the installer you downloaded and install LW once again. If not then replace the old MRJ cache folder to the old location and re-start the computer once again. And once again try to launch LW and see if it will work.
