Question problems burning CDs using Roxio Toast

I don't know why this is, but i cannot burn most of my downloaded mpg 3 files on cd. The "speed" seems to be to slow - meaning the bitrate, even if I put the burning speed at x1. I can burn other audio files from a Cd-Rom, but not the downloaded ones. Maybe this is normal, but everybody else seems to happily burn their stuff from limewire.
I tried to convert the files to -.aif, but that doesn't change their "speed".

I have a G3 with OS 9.2 with 448 MB, and use a modem to download, is that the problem?

I would very much appreciate any help on this!!!!:

The "speed" that is "too slow" that you are referring to is the read speed I believe.

In order for the CD to burn, the CD burner needs to be able to be given the information being burned at the speed it is burning at. And that means your harddrive needs to be able to read fast enough to transfer the information to the burner. That being said, chances are that your harddrive is too slow to transfer fast enough. Try putting the data you wish to burn on a harddrive with a faster transfer rate.
