SUCCESS!! 1 Attachment(s) Gather 'round to hear the miracle...I have successfully installed Limewire. I was continuing my search for the solution to the MRJ/Installer problem, and found a website with info about MRJ installation--where all the components should be. Now, I've re-installed MRJ several times, but when I checked the system folder, I noticed components missing, or misplaced. No idea how, or why that happened. I followed the instructions, and voila! The LW installer finally worked. So, for anyone interested, here's the site: http://www.stsci.edu/webet/MacSetup.html I've also attached a jpg screen capture of the info from the site. I'll do my best to pass this info on, (and post it in some forums) to anyone having the same conflict/problem. Thanks so much to all who helped, offered suggestions, and stuck with it for so long. It's much appreciated. |
Great! MRJ, huh! Which were the missing components? |
Ahhh. The joy of success. Congratulations, and I hope you enjoy Limewire most thoroughtly! |
The components weren't actually missing, they were in the wrong folder. I have no idea why, or how. |
To all involved with the Saga of Jottagirl: Wow! Thank you for hours of interesting reading. Kinda like a soap opera (but without the marital infidelity and evil twin). What a saga. Just reading about it has exhausted me - I think that sushi and beer are in order to celebrate your journey and success. Nice job boys & girls! |
>>(but without the marital infidelity and evil twin)<< Oh, but there WAS...you missed a great chapter. <g> At least this story entertained *someone*. |
Oh yeh, just call us the 'jones busters.' She got a m-r-j jones, boom-chaka-chaka-boom, she "had" a m-r-j jones, backa, backa boom. ;) Good job on the fix young lady. :) |
ahem....not exactly a "young" lady, but thanks, sonny! But I *feel* pretty childish. <g> |
Hmm, Sonny? I thought dirt and I shared a common birthday. Why thank you for the compliment. Now where did I put that invite to meet Adam, it was just..............;) |
Hey, I *knew* dirt....dirt was a friend of mine. And, Sir, you're not as *nearly* as old as dirt. And take it from me, Adam & Eve's parties aren't as exciting as they sound. You know the kind of snakes that hang out at the Garden of Eden mansion...it always turns into a reptilian free-for-all. Bobbing for apples is the highlight of the evening. |
