The Limewire ghost changed my preferences this morning. This was preceded by an unexpected LImewire crash.
I keep "Days to keep incompete files" set at 365 days but the ghost changed this back to 7. (Note: Other preferences were also changed, too, back to default, it appears. trap_jaw4 makes a good point about the user physically making changes and I am aware of that. I am still thinking there is relationship between downloads.dat and the percentage of a file that has been downloaded. I am thinking downloads.dat "knows" and retains how much of each file has been downloaded and that incomplete files begin to download properly until the number of "Days to keep incompete files" has been reached, at which point, they start at zero and turn to red, in color. There are a few people here who participate and try to help others and I, for one, am grateful for that, but it would be nice to have a little input from a developer or two. Items like the subject of this thread (red files versus black ones) really should be covered in FAQ, or at a minimum, we should be able to find answers without having to continue to plead. I still have posts here to which no one has replied. Thanks to Lord of the Rings for his input and for helping to keep this thread going. Maybe a devloper will notice it and give us some answers. |
