![]() Opening downloaded files ... Downloaded files to not show a file type designation (ie. mpeg, avi. etc.) Files in the shared folder reamin LimeWire docs and will not open either with "Launch" or from the Library. The solution at least for OS 8.6 was to create an alias for the shared folder, remember the type of file downloaded, open the shared folder, shorten the file name, type for example ".mpeg" at the end of the file name. In brief I had forgotten that a Mac OS only allows a max of 32 characters for file names. Thus when the file is downloaded the OS automatically clips the original name and file type. |
