Ok so I've dowloaded the basic version of Limewire and have the .dmg file on my desktop. When I double click on the icon it takes me through the install process and tells me it's been sucessfully installed. The problem is that I do not get a shortcut other than the .dmg file so that when I should (I think) be cennecting to Limewire I get taken through the install process again and there seems no obvious thing that I'm doing wrong.
Any ideas much appreciated.... |

Shortcuts on the mac are called aliases. And are much more reliable than window's shortcuts.
You can go to menu bar in finder, select Go menu > Applications & then find LW. Open the program, then click on its icon in the dock. Select Keep in Dock. Else, before opening it, right-click or control-click & choose make alias of. Then move alias to desktop.
