I've been trying unsuccessfully to trash limewire on my Mac OSX 10.2.8....and I keep getting the message "cannot trash item because item is owned by root". How do I get passed this? Do I need the uninstall program? If so, where do I get it?

Should just be able to trash it. hmm sounds like permissions issue. Select LW, hold down command i & then click more details arrow. Then change permissions to "you". Then try trashing again.
BTW if you need a LW version compatible with Jaguar, let me know. |

Well, I changed the permissions to me and I was given the message "the item limewire cannot be removed to the trash because this item cannot be deleted."
