Need Help with P2P

hello Everyone,

I am New to forum as well as P2P
I want to build a P2P network. I have started reading the material regarding P2P networking. I am going through "IEEE 802.15.4 MAC" and in that it is mentioned

"A network has exactly one PAN coordinator."

Does that mean, in a network only one node which is coordinator will have PAN ID?

by that I mean, if there are 3 nodes in a P2P network then among those whoever is the coordinator will have PAN ID.
Kindly let me know I am just trying to understand this concept before I go ahead & start developing.
