To all the people who's connection is shot please read my foum. If you've tried everything else. I put in step by step everything that I did and what went wrong. My internet would go down as soon as I tried to download it. It is the Mcafee anti-virus system. As soon as I deleted it I was okay. I have VISTA home basic and an e-machine with an aol dial-up.My forum is Beating a dead horse***-connection problems. Please post if it works so people can have a general idea on what's going on and what they can do to fix it.Good Luck:) |

(eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)? Cable 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? No label on modem, sorry and Netgear WGR614 v4 7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW4.13. Java RE6 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Time Warner Cable 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Works 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No 12. McAfee I'm having the same problem and I do have McAfee but what if I don't want to uninstall it? Is there any settings that I can change in McAfee to make it work without uninstalling the program? I kind of wanted to keep my antivirus program becuz I'm kind of paranoid about things.:w00t: Or is there a better FREE antivirus program that I can use? :confused: |
