![]() Hmmm this is a hard one...Try these fixes it may help, it's worth a try... ![]() Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE offline version....(4th one down) http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer... http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...oadfree2.shtml If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36420

![]() Ok, I did all three and no change. Any other ideas? Ive tried just about every option that I've found on here but no luck yet. One question though, my ISP says that are not restricting P2P at all but even if they were, this would in no way be relevant to Limewire detecting a firewall right? |

![]() I tried using the Beta version but no luck there either. Im also trying to get a better (3rd party) answer about whether or not my ISP is messing with P2P traffic. If so, it is a very recent change. Also, about Aero, I have it sitting in the task bar but I never use it just because I never think to if thats what you mean. |

![]() Try the tips here & see if it makes any difference (you could even reinstall Java 6). Reduce the drag caused by LW I can't find anything to suggest that KOS are traffic shaping, but I guess it's possible. Their AUP vaguely mentions bandwidth management but you've used them with no probs before ![]() http://www.kos.net/about/aup.kos |

![]() I have tried everything mentioned on the Reduce Drag link or it doesnt really apply to me (1000's od shared files and full queue for example) and KOS says no traffic shaping. Ive excludied just about every possibility except Vista so Im thinking of dual booting my laptop with XP sp2 and see if it is any different. Than at least I know its a Vista issue and find out whether or not I can adjust for it. Options are running out. Thanks for all the ideas though. I will keep you posted as Im sure that if this gets figured out it could help at least a few people. |
