limewire wont connect(vista)

Hi everyone,
Please please could somebody help me i have been trying for 3 days solid now to connect my limewire to the internet the programme itself installs and sets up but when it comes to starting a connection i can sit there all day with no connection. i have tried downloading different versions of lime wire, i have even turned off my firewalls please please somebody help.
