Default Problem that just started (no search results)

I use Windows Vista and I have been for about 2 months now.
Limewire has been working great with it and I have had no problems. Now all of a sudden out of the blue whenever I start a search it dosnt do anything.
I connect all find, no brick wass infront of the planet and all 5 bars and full Green.
I type in a song or file.....and nothing happens, it just searches and never finds anything.
This just started happening to me about a week ago and I cant find out the problem.

Can anybody help me?

Try searching a well known artist, to check and see if LW is working properly.

Are you connected properly (how many green connection bars do you see)?
If your connection is ok, try this: Problems with the search

And if that's no help, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things.

Well I dunno, I tried all that stuff. Deleting that folder dosnt allow me to even open Limewire anymore so that didnt work.
I changed the Port number and added the IPs to the connections and still nothing.
I think my Limewire is just broken

Reinstall LW & see if the search is any better. Make sure to use the offline installer (when you click to download LW, a box will pop up asking if you want to save. Cancel out of that & you'll see an option to use the offline installer). Deleting that prefs folder shouldn't stop LW from opening!

I had the same problem Vandally, a freind of mine told me to this and it worked for me. It was explained to me that Limewire leaves entries behind that can not be uninstalled by ordinary means, and unless ALL of the old enteries of L/W are gone, then the problem will exist on forever no matter how many times you uninstall or install L/W. I did this: 1. Use the M/S uninstall 2. Go to Search and enter L/W in search and delete ALL entries that are shown. Shut down, restart and do this about three times on Search, for some oddball reason M/S does not uninstall ALL of everything!.3. Download "Registry Crawler" [free for 30 days] use it in everyway possible to find and delete ALL L/W entries. Do a Cold shutdown for about ten minutes. Start up and download L/W from a reliable souce. If I were you I would download "Frostwire."It is a sister to Limewire, looks and works the same, and it does NOT ask for a upgrade like L/W. Norton could be a problem too. If all else fails uninstall Norton like L/W and install AVG. I am not a computer geek, I learned all this from day after day of trying to install L/W. Let me know what happend! Good Luck.

Ronn

You may not have been a computer geek before you got Vista and LW but you are certainly one now.
