![]() i already called mediacom because i thought that to and they said that there wasn't an internal firewall. but anyway it is an arris model number tm402g/110 p/n tmo2ac104. as for the java fix, deleting the pref folder and almost all the other things i've heard to do, they all didn't work. |

![]() I should probably also add that frost wire and any other program has the exact same problem (believe me i've been trying alot of new one's since not having limewire). I really feel that it must be a problem with the new limewire update because as I stated earlier, I've never had any problems untill I updated even with running vista. |

![]() Try these fixes... Right-click the Limewire icon and go to properties and change compatability setting to Windows 2000. (but only if you're using Windows 2000 or later.) Somebody reported changing to Windows NT compatibility fixed their problem despite not using that operating system version. Right-click on the Limewire icon on the desktop and click on Run as. Then it should come up showing the current user and then switch it over to Administrator. (but 'only' if you're the admin of your comp.!)

![]() Well unfortunately that leaves me to believe that it's your ISP that is causing this...They are known to shape p2p and in your case it looks like they are... Check out this thread. [RANT] Mediacom blocking P2P traffic - Dont waste your money - dslreports.com

![]() But...try this last ditch effort... Uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer...To find the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link... Lime Wire » Download LimeWire Try installing PeerGuardian, it will help keep the fake hosts out...Remember to enable PG just before you start limewire up... ![]() Phoenix Labs » PeerGuardian 2 Another thing if you are using limewire 4.13 and later you can apply this hostile list... ![]() I really don't know, it is weird tho that I had mediacom the whole time ( with my old comp and now with my new one) and everything was fine untill I upgraded to the new version of lw. Let me ask you this, I recintly had to do a complete system restore (15 year old son messed up my ge force 8200 driver and ALOT of other stuff on new comp) and after complete restore I then downloaded new version of lw, could my vista backups (on puter) be messing with lw , because I know vista has a little more intricate backups than xp. |
