Exclamation Major Problem!!!! (songs won't play anymore)

The past two days I have been noticing that for some reason, all the songs that I have downloaded are for some mysterious reason are not playing. I click on them and songs that did work before dont now, and every song that I downloaded recently does not play. I have tried playing them on different media players (iTunes, Windows Media Player) and they will not work.

HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Has the file extension changed, say from MP3 to either .EXE or .RAR??

No, they are the exact same as when I downloaded them. I haven't touched them at all. And they played just fine b4. And any songs I now download also don't play.

Try playing the files with VLC player. It's a free download & has codecs installed to play most file types. It's a very reliable player.
VLC media player

Do CDs play without a problem? What about songs that you downloaded a long time ago? Do the file sizes (of songs that won't play) still look right?

If the files won't play using VLC, update your AV & scan your computer. If you don't have an AV, these are free (make sure to update before you scan).
avast!

AVG free

Avira Antivir

Or, there are links to online scans in the thread below.

The player isn't the problem. All the songs I have downloaded off of Limewire will not play at all, recent or past. I scanned my computer with AVG, Spybot, and Ad-Aware.
