still trying to connect

just had to buy new computer which is loaded with Vista. unfortunatley my old wi fi card was not apparently compatible. never mind stuck the network cable in and back to bt hub and hat presto on the net and download limewire. unfortunatley all i ever get back when i search is "still trying to connect to the network" help
