Firewall trouble!!!

I just downloaded limewire pro and I can't get through a firewall. I have windows vista. I turned off the windows firwall alltogether and I also have mcafee. I allowed permission for limewire and tried uninstalling both mcafee and limewire and re installing them. I have Limewire Pro 4.14.10 and Java 1.6.0_03. I have been told that mcafee usualy causes problems with limewire but when mcafee was uninstalled it still showed the firewall icon in front of the world in the lower left hand corner of limewire. Any ideas on how I can get up and running? Is there anything more I can tell anyone that would make this easier to help with? Thanks
