Cannot Access Tools-Options Anymore!

I'm not quite sure what has happened, but my Limewire Pro 4.14.10 has decided that I no longer have a choice as to if I wish for it to open and run at every moment of the day. It has decided that I am too inept to utilize the Options menu, as when I select it on the drop down menu from TOOLS, it flashes open for a mere second and then dissapears into the darkness of the HDD.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, even re-downloaded a new copy. It has all the hallmarks of some trojan, as it over-rides the user's prefrences and continues to open everytime I close it.

I am no expert on everything, but this just isn't right.
