Finally got limewire to downlowd however now i have encountered another problem. I start limewire and it gets to the part where the bar on the bottom says: Loading Old Downloads. However, it just keeps saying Loading old downloads and when i try to search, a popup says: Please wait, LimeWire must finish loading before a search can be started. But it never finishes loading and I have no clue what to do. Can someone help me out how to get past this and be able to make searches. Thanks

Try updating your Java: Java SE Downloads
Download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions before installing this one.

If updating Java doesn't help, see whether this older version is any better. Same thing here...download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions before installing the older version.

If that doesn't help, right click on the LW icon > properties > compatibility. Try compatibility mode for XP.

I tried doing what you said to do but it still doesnt get passed the loading old downloads.. so i cant search still.. Dont know what else to do... anyone have any other solutions?

Which version of LW are you using? Have you been able to use LW in the past, or is this your first try? If you've been able to use LW before, which version worked for you?

If you had trouble getting LW to download - what kind of trouble?
