Default AppCrash with Vista 32-bit

Well, I've done my research and looked around for every single solution there is in order for Limewire to work with Vista...
I've tried:
1) Change compatibility mode to Windows XP Service pack 2
2) Reset Limewire by deleting it in Roaming
3) Running it as administrator
4) Allowing it on firewall
5) Not having McAfee installed
6) Uninstalling and reinstalling it
7) Using several versions of Limewire (Frostwire, Beta)

The attempts I've made won't fix one problem that I only receive, which is an error known as an: "AppCrash". This happens right when I think I'm about to use Limewire when it opens the "Upgrade to Pro" window, then all of a sudden, it crashes saying, "LimeWire has stopped working."

Here are the crash details:

It would be greatly appreciated if I can receive any help.. I wrote this after working an 8 hour shift, and its midnight. I'm sorry if I was confusing at all.

Thank you.

It Might be a Java issue.

First of all, install Java. Download the JRE offline installer & Remove any other Java versions installed (via Add/Remove Programs) before you install the latest Java.

Ah, I almost forgot to put that up too.

I did in fact install the latest java software. Meh, still doesn't hit the magic button to make it work.

Do you have a different user account on your computer? If yes, try running LW from there. If no, set up a temporary test account & run LW. See if you have same problems.
It may be a software clash.
Do you have the utility Alcohol on your system? I believe this can cause problems.

Did you remove all java versions before re-installing the latest?

As far as compatibility mode goes, are there any others available you can try?

Not that it should make any difference, you could perhaps uninstall LW using the Start menu > Programs > LW > Uninstall, then use this version Download ‘Other’ version & simply unzip & use!.

1) I tried using it on a different user account. Still doesn't work.
2) Yes, I do have Alcohol 120%. That might be it? Not sure.
3) Prior to my download of Limewire, I never had a version of Java software on my new operating system of Vista. So this shouldn't have been a problem.
4) I tried all the compatibility modes. None of them help.
5) I'll try using the "other" version. Hm.. I'll get back to you on that one.

By the way, thanks LOTR.

Ah, snap, the "Other" version still doesn't work. It won't start-up at all because it's not meant for Windows.

Yes, Alcohol has been causing problems for some other windows users. The person who discovered the problem said they renamed their alcohol library file or prefs file, can't remember which. Perhaps search the world alcohol on the forum to find the appropriate thread & specific file mentioned.

The Other version will run on Windows .... just not sure about Vista or 64 bit systems.

Well, I tried renaming the Alcohol Driver and that doesn't work.
Maybe uninstalling it will help?
