Default Files won't play

I can download from Limewire, but when I add the files to my player, they have no times and won't play. I can preview them in the Limewire player, but not in Musicmatch. They all appear to be mp3 files and I can play older saved files that I haven't recently downloaded from Limewire. Any suggestions? I feel a bit put out that I had to pay for this service and I can't get in music out of it. Thanks.

Since when did you 'have' to pay for it? LimeWire is FREE. And it's not a service.
Perhaps you accidentally paid for a scam version of LW; Known Scam Sites (click on link).

Not sure about Musicmatch, perhaps you are missing some needed codecs. You could try playing the same files in another audio player.

I'm having the same problem, files won't play for me either. Nor can I preview anything.

And what size are the files? Did you look at the links I posted?

Have you tried playing these files with Windows Media player?
Just to check they are legitimate mp3 files?

I have a similar problem. my limewire downloaded avi file will not play on Windows Media, VLC, Media Player Classic or Real Player. I also have K-Lite Pro and K-Lite codec pack, where the file was also downloaded from.
Messages from the players vary from "wrong file format" to "content is blocked" to "cannot render file". The avi file will not convert to DVD using AVS either. I'm spending too much time geting nowhere!

You can get G-Spot, an audio/video file analyzer, free from download.com & elsewhere. It will tell you the specs, such as what CODECs are required (and if they're present on your machine).

I have the same problem, files won't play in any player I have. The file sizes are all 3.30+MB, but the times are 00.01 and all want me to install PLAY_MP3, which is an application and my AVG blocks the download every time. I can still play older files.

erm .. I do know there are some spyware out there that ask you to download specific codecs which are really viruses. Do not trust them. If VLC - (click on link) cannot play them, then do not trust them. Not all files that have mp3 or wma are really audio files. They are really 'other' things. They are secretly hidden viruses. This is especially the case for drm encoded files which can literally be anything, viruses or worse.
