Default lime wire and cookies question

I had lime wire on a back up pc with vista. a room mate who was supposedly just using it to check football stats wasn't doing that. I found some really disturbing and sick websites under the internet history. When confronted he says it was lime wire and that he started to down load some music and came back to it with "200" pop ups of these websites.

Now there is no way lime wire can mess with the internet history like showing different websites visited and such?

Limewire has nothing to do with your browser history. Your roommate must've visited some unusual football sites.

'Some' spammed files appear as normal files but are not, may be linked to porn files. Perhaps your friend was downloading porn files, or just choosing wrong ones & they hyper-linked him to various sites via the browser. Need to learn which file sizes to avoid: Virus thread: Typical virus spam file sizes - Make a note of them (click on blue link to see).

Secondly, you can filter out some types of searches: Direct instructions to eliminate porn from results (the links within this post have important words to filter out via your keyword filter.)

This way, LW cannot be used as a scapegoat at least.
