xtremereef is flying high
Default Need help unstable port and firewall

I am told I have an unstable connection and therefore get very few search results. Please dont yell I have tried quite a few things in the last few days and have searched the forum rather well and I am still lost.

1. OS version? Vista 64 bit yes it is the admin acct
2. What firewalls you have? I uninstalled Norton and deactivated the windows firewall so for now none
3. How much ram? 4 Gig
4. Hard Disk space available? 143 Gig Free
5. Connection type? Dsl
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Here we get interesting The modem is a westell b90-210015-04 from there It goes to a d link dl-624m and due to home size to a linksys wrt 54gs
7. Where are you trying to connect from House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Here I am unsure today is 2/23/09 I just downloaded limewire pro 3 days ago as far as java I uninstalled all and am waiting on your suggestions
9. Who is your ISP Verizon
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? I can not earlier today I did and it worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. I am on a wireless network and we have one other laptop as well as a desktop
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. First though i have been a 360 share pro user for years though this problem existed than as well
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? _ click here to see Sample image
If you're using LW5, there's no firewall icon. In LW go tools > advanced tools...there you'll see whether you're behind a firewall or not. Tells me I am firewalled
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Port forwarding but need instruction on how to do this right
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall None
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). usa
17. Has anything in your setup changed recently? Have you updated your version of LW or Java? Have you added any new software or new hardware? Have you updated any software? Have you moved house, changed internet plan or ISP etc etc? no
