Hi all,

I'm having a problem with my wifes' pc installing limewire (XP Pro)..

..actually the install goes fine and everything works, but there are no buttons or the lime in the top right to see if the search is still going on. I uninstalled all java and limewire, rebooted, installed java 1.4, rebooted and installed limewire 2.4.4.. same problem. The application works fine! But not being able to see the lime or the buttons blows.

I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like. I'm assuming this is a java problem. I'm running limewire 2.4.4 and java 1.4 on my pc and running XP Pro as well and I'm not having any problems at all.

Any ideas?

That's pretty weird.

The buttons, like the lime, are .gif images. They should be inside limewire.jar (a jar is a zip file with another extension. You can open it in winzip or winRAR or whatever)

Check that within the jar, the folder com\limegroup\gnutella\gui\images is there, and that it has the images in it. notsearching.gif, searching.gif, button1.gif etc.

No idea why they wouldn't be, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

And BTW: interesting screen shot. That's the first time I've ever seen the ads in LimeWire (I always compile it without, and the screenshots on limewire.com are of the pro version which is ad free)

I'll check the jar file.. very strange.
