When attempting to start limewire for the first time I get this message "Can't find javaw.exe". I uninstalled BearShare and lime wire then reinstalled Limewire and still I get the same message.

If you right click on the shortcut that you are using to start LimeWire, you should be able to select "Properties." From the properties window you should see the "Target" field listing:
"C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1\bin\javaw.exe" -cp . RunLime Try changing this to read simply: javaw.exe -cp . RunLime This should solve the problem. Is this happening with LimeWire 1.6? Is your "Program Files" directory somewhere other than "C:\Program Files"? Thanks. |

Thanks for Your suggestion however, it didn't work. The program is installed in D:\Program Files\Limewire on a WINNT4.0 system. I did a search on all drives and couldn't find the file anywhere. I then uninstalled Limewire, rebooted and reinstalled. There was no change, the result was the same. Is NT compatable w/ Limewire? Should I download the setup program again and reinstall? ??? What is the version of limewire that you have? What is the type of OS that you are using? Win95/98/Me/NT/2000?
Are these foreign language OS versions? Thanks -greg |

I think we stumped them with this one. I haven't seen any replies since yesterday. Maybe they left town?

I have installed the English version on NT 4.0 workstation. I'm trying to run version 1.6b from it's folder on D:\Program Files\limewire.
