![]() I used to have the Norton virus software problem with Lime wire where it would work for about 5-15mins then crash the whole pc (i.e. make it unresponsive). I have gotten rid of Norton and have Mcafee instead, free from my AOL broadband server. But now, whenever I open Limewire, my pc crashes to a blue screen with this message: Stop:0x0000008E (0xC0000005,0xF86712CC,0xB940498C, 0x00000000) MPFirewall.sys-Address F86712cc BASE AT f866f000, dATESTAMP 3DF0C071 ----------------------------------------------- Please, please, can somebody help me, I really want to keep Limewire. My operating system is Windows XP HOME I have AOL Broadband connection Fairly newish PC, good specs |

![]() Hellbound, I had a lot of trouble with McAfee on AOL 9.0. I finally disabled it and switched back to Norton for my firewall. Although in my case Limewire was running fine with Norton to start with but at least after I disabled McAfee on AOL 9.0 everything started working again. First - make sure your XP firewall is disabled. Next, I assume you are running AOL 9.0 if you have McAfee running with it. Try running Limewire with AOL shut down? If it runs O.K. then I will bet it is AOL (and probably McAfee) interfering. I hope one of those tips works. I wish I could offer more help. As an AOL user I sympathize with you. Norm |
