Registering limewire

Hello, I was just wondering, if you pay for pro once, do you have to pay again if you reload your computer, I bought pro a couple of years ago, but have since reloaded my comp and have been using freeware version for quite a while, do you have to pay to upgrade to pro every time you have to reinstall LW? or is there some way to activate it otherwise?
