I have downloaded Limewire and then I was able to download a few songs but how do I get them out of my library to my hard drive so that I can burn them? Also do I have to format these to burn them?

You don't get them out of your Library into your Hard drive: they're already there.
More specifically, they are stored in the folder found at the location that is specified in Tools->Options->Saving.
